Randomaze 3-D read me: INSTALLING RANDOMAZE 3-D To install Randomaze 3-D, simply place the executable (randomaze3d.exe) into any folder. It is recommended that you create a folder specifically for Randomaze, but any folder will do. The first time it is run, it will create all of the files that it needs to operate. ABOUT RANDOMAZE 3-D Randomaze 3-D creates a randomly generated maze. All throughout the maze you will find things like a compass, batteries, and other items which you can use to help find your way out of each maze. You will also have to find food in order to have enough energy to find your way out. (We also recommend having a real snack handy while playing the harder levels. Some times these levels take a while to complete!) Each player has the option to pick from six different skill levels from "Nice-N-Easy" to "Only For The Strongest". The first time a person plays, they will be asked for their name. Each player's personal settings will be saved automatically, this way many different people will be able to use Randomaze without interfering with someone else's game. Although Randomaze only has one basic theme, it is designed so that it can be played with many different themes. Each of these themes has different graphics, sounds, and messages. We are now in the process of designing these themes and hope to have them ready soon. THE HISTORY OF RANDOMAZE 3-D: I was only about twelve years old when I got my first computer. It had only 16K of memory and a black and white monitor. There was no floppy drive and I don't think that hard drives were even around back then. The only way I had to save or load a program was through a cassette tape recorder that was hooked to my computer. It took anywhere from three to seven minuets to load a single program. I was given a program that made a two-dimensional maze. This program took five to ten minuets to create the maze. I thought that there must be a faster and better way and so began the dream of Randomaze. I was able to write a program that made a two-dimensional maze in just under two minuets but that was the best I was ever able to do. A three-dimensional maze was just out of the question but the dream never left! Now about twenty-five years later, I have started programming again and my dream has become a reality. It is finished and ready to be enjoyed by others. I hope you will have as much fun playing it as I have had making it! OUR THANKS: First I need to thank my brother for getting me back into programming after all of these years, for sharing his programming knowledge with me, and for taking care of the MarcaSoft website. Thanks Scott! Secondly let me thank you for using MarcaSoft software. We hope that you enjoy it and that it proves to be useful to you. Please let us know what you think.
